Kerry Endorsement

Can anybody tell me...

Can anybody tell me what possible advantage accrues to gaining the endorsement of John Kerry? Am I mistaken or is Mr. Kerry's name and rep not synonymous with the tired old politics that Mr. Obama says he is transcending? Is Kerry trying to salvage some of his reputation as a progressive and 'with it' politician by glomming onto the coat tails of the current rising star? And doesn't the Kerry brand carry with it the distinct cachet of loser? I certainly hope, for Obama's sake, he doesn't take the man's advice on how to run a campaign.

Although, maybe it's a perfect match. Kerry may have had some underlying substance but lacked the rhetorical skills to ever get beyond defending himself from stupid attacks. Obama certainly has the rhetoric, the buzzwords and that ol' cheerleader quality, but whenever I pay close attention to his condescending rants about how he will 'change' everything I find myself wondering what exactly is he talking about? Does this mean that he will magically transform the electorate so that politics becomes something other than politics?
