Bill Clinton Interview

I've been raving about and reading aloud to anyone who will listen the following Rolling Stone interview with Bill Clinton that appeared in their November 40th Anniversary issue.

I've been raving about and reading aloud to anyone who will listen the following Rolling Stone interview with Bill Clinton that appeared in their November 40th Anniversary issue.

On my first read I kept having to stop in amazement to contemplate how we got from a president of this caliber to what we have now. The descent and "dumbing down" of the American electorate over the past two terms has indeed been breathtaking.

Here Bill Clinton puts the past 40 years of American politics in historical and global context. In his view the disaster of the past 8 years is that we have been unable to have a "reality based" conversation about the issues we really need to deal with. Instead we've been lost in a neoconservative dreamland where anyone, Democrat, Republican or otherwise who speaks outside of this narrow ideological context is viewed as irrelevant at best and traitorous at worst. A progressive victory in the coming election will free all sides to actually come to the table and begin the real conversation once again.

I could not find a printed version, but the following page has an audio clip of the interview:
